Hello! I'm Tonya
AND I’VE BEEN AN IN-HOME CAREGIVER FOR 28 YEARS NOW. I'VE TOOK SOME TIME OFF TO FOCUS ON MY CHILDREN, BUT MY JOY OF EDUCATING AND CARING FOR CHILDREN HAS BROUGHT ME BACK TO THE PROFESSION I LOVE.
THREE OF MY FOUR DAUGHTERS ARE ADULTS AND THRIVING AWAY FROM HOME, SO NOW THE LOVE AND ALSO THE DEMAND FOR MY SERVICES HAS WILLINGLY BROUGHT ME BACK. IT’S UNFATHOMABLE, BUT NOW SOME OF THE CHILDREN I HAVE CARED FOR NOW HAVE CHILDREN. I WAS THE FIRST ONE THEY THOUGHT OF TO CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN. I WAS BEYOND TOUCHED, BUT AT THE TIME, TONYA’S LULLABY’S DOORS WERE CLOSED FOR BUSINESS. THEY DEMANDED THE DOORS BE REOPENED AND SAID THAT IT WAS A DISSERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY TO DENY MY LOVING CARE.
LOL. SO HERE I AM, BACK IN FULL EFFECT AND READY TO EMBRACE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE MY LOVE, UNDERSTANDING, AND MY HOME TO ALL IN NEED.
STAY HAPPY AND STAY BLESSED.

Profile and Program
Just a brief synopsis on my background, my philosophy and my program.
Tonya Paige's profile
Tonya graduated from University of Mn, Morris with an Business Economics major. She has 4 daughters whom has been a huge inspiration in her life. She has always wanted to own her business and provide a service to her community. Immediately, after having her oldest daughter she knew that building a loving, nurturing and safe environment for a child encouraged growth and development in so many ways. She proceeded to open up her own childcare business in 1995, for 17 years. During this time, She not only increased her knowledge base about early education by becoming a member of Mn. Family Childcare Association, African American Adoption Agency, and a Think Small participant she opened up her home to foster special need children. Tonya, completed 40 hours of courses at the William Mitchell Law school in order to become a guardian ad litem for Ramsey County Children Judicial system. This encounter encouraged her to adopt her special need daughter which made her family complete. Tonya took a break from childcare and worked for UPS as an administrative assistant in the department of Business Development for 8yrs and begun to see that her community was in great need of her services again. She moved on to take on an Assistant Center Director’s position for a year and decided that she wanted to provide a more inclusive, intimate and personal relationship with families in her community by re-establishing her childcare business. Tonya believes that a small class environment develops a stronger relationship with children and their families. This gives her the ability to learn more and build a solid foundation for learning for her children.
Philosophy
At my childcare program, I create a safe, nurturing and caring space for the children to explore and learn at their own pace. Tonya’s Lullaby is a place where I teach through a daily routine schedule by providing theme/curriculum based learning each month. Our children will learn through play, music, nutrition, art, math, and literacy to build each child’s own unique learning experience in my care. Tonya’s Lullaby values the way children learn not only in her program but in their culture as well.
About Our Program
Tonya’s Lullaby is filled with fun events to enjoy throughout the year by celebrating birthdays, holidays and special events each month to encourage a learning experience about our children’s culture and families. We are a play-based, theme / structured environment to provide a daily routine learning experience through the interest of the kids. Our program provides math, writing, art, early literacy to develop the skills of each child at their level to invite discovery everyday.
